Tessera Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 October 2026.
In short: Tessera has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. A match against the computer sends nothing anywhere. Online play goes through the game's server, which keeps only what it needs to run matches, and you can delete your record from the game at any time.
On your device
Your decks, your settings and your online identity token are stored on your device, in the game's own storage. Deleting the app deletes them.
On the game server (online play only)
The first time you open the Online screen, the server creates an anonymous player record. It holds:
- A random player ID and a random token that lets your device reconnect as you. Neither is linked to your Apple ID, email, phone number or any device identifier.
- Your name: one drawn for you at first, such as "Ember Wren", or one you type on the Online screen. Typed names are checked by a filter before anyone sees them. Your opponents see your name, with your deck's hero and, for a ready-made deck, its name. A deck you built shows to them as "Custom deck".
- The players you have blocked, until you unblock them.
- Your number of online wins and losses, and when the record was created and last used.
While a match is being played, the server also holds both players' decks and the state of the game. A finished match is kept for up to ten minutes, for a rematch, and then deleted.
Your IP address is used while you are connected, to limit how many connections and new players one network can open. The game server does not store it.
Reports
If you report another player, the server keeps the report: your player ID, theirs, the name they were using, the match and the reason. A moderator reviews it and then deletes it; a report is never kept longer than 180 days. If three different players report the same name, the name is replaced at once with a drawn one. A moderator may also reset a name, stop a player from typing names, or ban a player from online play.
Who else handles it
The server is hosted by Fly.io, Inc. in the United States, which carries the traffic and stores the server's files on our behalf. We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone else.
How long it is kept
A player record that never finished a match is deleted after 30 days without use. Other records are kept until you delete them.
Deleting your record
On the Online screen, open Server and tap Forget me on this server. Your player record is deleted at once, and the game starts a new anonymous one the next time you go online. You can also write to support@graygiantgames.com.
